What to expect

  • Prior to our first nutrition consultation, you will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire to give a better understanding of what is going on with your health and what you would like to achieve from our discussion. You should keep a food diary for three days before we meet.

At the first consultation

Our  first appointment will last  60-90 minutes.

Sometimes I will recommend a test to give us a clearer picture of what may be going on. At the end of the session you will be given a plan of how to support your goal.

After that

Follow-up appointments are 45-60 minutes and will give us a chance to assess how your plan is going. Any test results will be explained and, if necessary, the plan modified. A minimum of three appointments are usually recommended to support the process of the therapy and to help implement any longer term strategies.

What support will be given between appointments?

Between appointments you can email with any questions you may have. Phone calls may also be arranged if you feel a conversation would be of more value.

Recommendations

Suggestions on new ways of putting food together can be discussed; this could be food alternatives or recipe ideas.

These suggestions will always be made to reflect nutritional needs identified during the consultation process.

Supplementation may also be recommended where a need is identified.

Functional Tests

There are many test available to give a better understanding of what is happening on the inside. These tests can help explain symptoms you may be experiencing and help guide our plan to rebalancing.

Some clients also find that seeing a test result can help strengthen  their engagement in any changes.

What Can we Find Out from Tests?

We can gain a better insight into your digestive function, nutrient status, any foods that may be causing intolerance issues and  hormonal health.

DNA tests are also available that give information on your metabolic predisposition. These tests  help us to see what way of eating best interacts with your genetic make-up.
